OctonionicCorona and her family have some more issues with food, but surprisingly Father isn't the cook. The “Functional Food” referenced here was/is a sub-industry that I'd never heard of, but I suppose it was a craze in the mid-1990s when this was written.
The inscription at the end appears to be a relatively common phrase construction, but there could have been an immediate reference being made. For example, there was a book published in 1995 about Nobunaga using that construction for the title.
