Octonionic Translations

This chapter hits quite a few notes that have become staples of the series: wordplay, misunderstood customs, natives being silly, resident riff-raff making trouble, and Laika cheesecake on the title page.

There's a native pictured in this who I don't think is mentioned: Obayashi Nobuhiko, who wrote and directed the film adaptation of “The Drifting Classroom”.
